In its own way, the family has always used business to support its philanthropic activities through its various trusts (The Durlabhji Trust for Development, The Santokba Durlabhji Trust and the Durlabhji Environment Friendly Trust). Today, the family runs a modern 400-bed hospital, the Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital-cum-Medical Research Institute, Jaipur, located in the very heart of the city, and rated as one of the premier medical institutions in the country. The Avedna Ashram, a free-for-all, 100-bed hospice for terminally ill patients, was formally inaugurated in February, 1997.
A modern Blood Bank has commenced operations, and also made rapid progress. The family also runs Sanskar, an organization created in 1997, specifically to enrich the lives of children, and has also set up a school called Hemkhail on the outskirts of Jaipur.
